Father’s Day Collage Card

Since I was having so much fun gathering images and embellishments for the Mother’s Day card that I made this year, I just kept going with it for Father’s Day!

Electrical plaque on collage card

Once again I dug into my collection of vintage images on my computer and printed a bunch out. Then I went through some stuff that I have collected over the years, some packs of vintage images and some old stamped images that I have kept and added to the collage.

Detail of hinge and key

I also picked up a pack of paper that had some old looking objects, these hinges and the key, and I cut them out and added them in too! I added some metallic wax to fancy them up a bit, but it doesn’t show in the photos, but it really is there! The hinges looked good with the gear embossed background paper. I’ve found that using embossing folders with metallic paper works pretty good, the coating on it seems to make the paper a bit stronger.

Clock with metal clock hands

And of course, I just kept piling it on! I have collected so many clock charms and hands, it was exciting to use some them, these clock hands fit just right on the clock I printed out and I didn’t even plan it!

Gears!

And as always, more gears! Cards for my dad are always a good excuse to use as many gear bits that I can.

Inside of collage card

I did a similar thing with the inside of this card as I did on my Mother’s Day card and I covered up all the wire and brads that I used to hold everything on with some decorative paper and also used up some images that I just couldn’t fit on the front!

Finished collage card

The finished card! I just had to add the rather sentimental image of the dad with his daughter, but what is Father’s Day for?

Note: I purchased the Mintay’s Grandma’s Attic paper pack at the Blue Moon Scrapbooking brick and mortar store, but they do not sell it online. They are a fun place to shop and if you are in Tucson, AZ, I recommend stopping by!
