Cherry Blossoms and Butterfly Card

What’s better for Easter cards than butterflies!

Cherry blossoms and butterfly cards

Originally I had planned on using my own drawing for the main image of this card, but I couldn’t get it to look good after scanning and printing out. So I fell back on my go to, my own stash of images.

Cherry blossom image

I just loved the graphic quality of this image. It’s from the free Friday images that I get from The Graphics Fairy, I get some of my best stuff from those emails! I wanted to use some cross brads that I have, but they’re kinda small so I cut out some crosses on my Silhouette Portrait.

Cross brads on cut out two layer paper crosses.

And of course, the butterfly!

Detail of velum butterfly

It took two tries, the first ones were too big, but I print and cut the butterflies out on my Silhouette. They always look so good printed out on velum. And now I have a bunch of butterflies to use in the future!

Inside message of card.

I wanted to use a stamp for the inside message but I only have one “Happy Easter” stamp! So again, I pulled out the Silhouette machine and a gel pen and had it write out the message. I plan to look out for another Easter stamp.

Finished cherry blossoms and butterfly card.

I do love this image, I might have to use it again sometime!

Happy belated Easter!
