Accordion Fairy Tale Card

This is another card that got out of hand. This was a farewell card to a fellow artist friend and I just couldn’t decide what to do so I did it all!

An accordion card, all the images that I used were illustrations from fairy tale books and for each one I used a different technique.

I printed on vellum, fabric, Lazertran onto wood and metal, iron-on transfer paper, and acetate. Then I layered each image with fun background papers.

I really liked using the embossed paper under the velum image, it gave it some nice texture!

These gears, while I think was kind of a weird choice, seem to work!

It was fun and a challenge to pair each image with a background and technique, I loved the blue patina of the metal with the fiery image of the genii. And the more natural feel of the wood with the mermaid image worked out well too!

I embellished each one individually but the artwork is so good I didn’t have to do much. Sometimes it’s fun to really play with all of the techniques you have!
