I finally caved and got a cutting machine. I was familiar with the Cricut cutters for many years but found them to be too limiting. One summer I did a bunch of research and decided to get the Silhouette Portrait. I have been very happy with it and began making cards with it right away! This was a Halloween pop-up card that I made with one of my favorite vintage images.
This year, for a friend’s birthday, I gave her the give of music, in the form of a micro SD card. So naturally the card was music themed and I wanted a way to hold this teensy little chip!
For the New Year I am finally getting around to posting this year’s Christmas card!
This card was designed around this beautiful, sparkly, pine cone fabric that I just had to get when I saw it! I had some other ideas in my head for Christmas cards this year but they all when out the window when I saw this. Bats are such good themes for Halloween! They work for a Dracula card and just about any Halloween theme, a bat is not out of place. This image that I got from The Graphics Fairy was so lovingly drawn but so clinical, that they looked like they should be in a display case. So that’s what I made my card’s look like!
So I have been trying not to buy so many craft supplies because I already have so many, but sometimes I just can’t resist! I picked up an Evolution Advanced die-cut and embossing machine at Tuesday Morning one day (something that happens fairly often I have found out,) so of course I had to get a bunch of stuff to use with it – sigh. However, it has been so much fun! I mostly got it for embossing since I have the Silhouette cutting machine, so when my friend’s birthday came around I decided to do a french themed card so I could use my “carte postale” embossing folder.
