I have a friend who’s birthday is right before Christmas, and I don’t always have time to make her a card. This year I managed to get one together and it turned out pretty spectacular.
This card was completely inspired by a set of ribbons, fabric and trims that I purchased at an artisan fair. It was full of so many fun and beautiful things!
The main element is the velvety leaves. I arranged them together with some crocheted flowers, one of the buttons and some beads, and sewed it all together with the red thread that was in the kit. To frame the leaves I used some edge and corner punches on the background paper.
I tied the bunch to the card with the super cool braided ribbon. My hope is that if she wants to use any of the elements of the card for something else, it is easy to take off. And of course, I had to add a brass metal charm!
I used some woodland paper that I got on clearance at Joann’s that really complemented the card. I love the racoon peeking around the vellum I used inside!
She loved the card and I hope she uses all the parts of the card for some more fun projects!
