I had grand plans to make many cards for this Christmas, I started working on them in July to get ahead, but I couldn’t make it happen this year, I was just too busy. However, I was able to get a few made! It helped that I had gotten some work done earlier in the year.
Like many of my cards, it started with an image. I had this cute one with the little birds and snowy trees that was just waiting for some fun embellishments. I added some glitter to the snow and some red flocking to the red bellied bird.
Then I cut out a whole lot of snowflakes! I do love my metallic papers, so everything has a lovely sheen to it. Even after all those die cut snowflakes, it wasn’t enough. I ended up using imitation silver leaf on some wooden snowflakes.
The wooden snowflakes added a nice pop and dimension to the card!
One of the things I did over the summer was prepare the inside greeting. I had picked up some Spellbinders glimmer foil plates so I used them for my cards. Even without having the proper platform for it (It doesn’t fit in my machine, so lots of trial and error with a hot plate!) they turned out very well.
I love how the foil plates de-boss the paper!
Some little birds to wish you frosty and Happy Holidays!
