Thankful and Grateful Card

My Thanksgiving card this year needed to be simple but still capture the season! My “Thankful and Grateful” stamp and a leaf punch did the trick.

I used a lot of metallic paper on this card, a pale gold oval for the stamp, and a bunch of colors for the leaves. The base card was a beautiful deep purple that I picked up at the Paper Source and I had left over from last year, some leaf paper that I had cut for cards, but then didn’t use.

For the stamp I used some embossing powder that I had recently bought, a purple that is not metallic, but “pearl.” It ended up looking really nice on the gold paper.

To stick everything down I tried a new product. I usually use a Xyron sticker maker, but there is a shortage of the refills for it so I tried Artist-tac. I had been wanting to try it as an alternative to the sticker maker (there is a lot of waste and lots of plastic involved with it) so this was a good opportunity. It is a good idea, but I kept getting the tiny dots of adhesive everywhere! But I did get my card done. And it was good to have plenty of sticky sheets, I had to punch out so many leaves!

I kept the inside pretty simple, just the leaf paper and one of my stock Thanksgiving sentiment stamps that I embossed in copper.

A lovely wreath of fall leaves! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

(And yes, this is a version of a card that I made for my niece a few years ago!)
