Be Thankful Card

This year I wanted my Thanksgiving card to be simple, so I designed it around the one phrase, “Be Thankful.”

Foiled Be Thankful

Since it was the origin for my design, I started with the “Be Thankful.” I designed the capital letters myself, and then found a complimentary font for the rest of the letters. I had originally wanted to make the phrase into a plate for my letterpress kit, but I decided to use my foil quill instead so the letters could be metallic and fun!

I had always envisioned feathers floating around on the card (turkeys maybe?), so I used my feather cutting dies and my metallic papers to cut a bunch of feathers.

Gold feather

The feathers I cut from gold paper needed some color variation so I rubbed them with some metallic wax.

The larger feathers were cut out of metallic crepe paper and I glued them onto some cardstock (the crepe paper is very flimsy on its own,) and I bumped them out with some foam tape.

I also remembered that I had some feather stamps so I added one to the inside of the card!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Bonus Card!

At the last minute I got an idea to make some cards with corn on them!

Corn cards

I picked up this corn image and I knew I had to make a card out of it. I wanted to make these quick so I used some leftover felt leaves (see, sometimes you do use those odds and ends that you keep!) and some scraps of paper that I had.

Dimensional corn accents

I like to embellish my images and Glossy Accents made my corn kernels shiney and dimensional!

Again I hope you have a much to be thankful this Thanksgiving!
