Seed Packet Card

As spring is coming soon, so this onion seed packet card is just the thing! The perfect chance for bees, flowers and a rich seed packet image.

I started this card with this kit I had purchased to marble paper using pastes. It was a bit weird, but it worked! I was able make a beautiful background paper in greens and blues. The kit also came with some fine gold glitter that I couldn’t resist using. I also floated some paper flowers to see how they turned out, they picked up some the pigment, but you really had to put them right on the color.

I then did some stamping and printed out the seed packet image on velum. This red onion was a great contrast to all the greens and golds.

The flowers were also stamped on velum and the bees were heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I also experimented with stamping a wheat stalk stamp using StazOn ink and powder pigments to give it a shimmer. I also stamped it on velum and the mica pigments stuck nicely to the ink. It is a nice option if you want a non-dimensional shimmer.

The kitchen stamps I wanted to use, didn’t quite fit on the outside of the card, so I used them to spruce up the inside of the card. I colored them with markers and cut them out.

Spring is not quite here yet, but this card makes me want to smell things growing!
