Acorn Card

Here is a Thanksgiving card that I made a couple years ago, someday I hope to make a batch of the bonus card I made at the end of the post! (Originally posted on 11/20/2018)

It’s the Holidays! I love fall and I have this weird habit of collecting acorns. I just love them! I put them in jars to display and I have even added glitter to them. This year for my Thanksgiving cards I decided to feature, acorns!

I wanted to make these card quickly so I used a lot of my machines on these.  The Silhouette drew the acorns on the plain velum and cut them out. I got some handmade paper and I embossed it in my Evolution Advanced machine for the leaf paper and then rubbed it with metallic wax to highlight the embossing. I was trying to use up some of my cardstock so I used a plain brown paper for the card itself but I jazzed it up with more metallic wax.

An eyelet to hold the two layers of the tag together and some string and they were ready to go! I had a huge sheet of the handmade paper so I put some inside the card as well and used this great “Thankful and Grateful” stamp from the Paper Source for the message.

They were a simple card that I think turned quite nice for the holiday.

Bonus Card!

I did make a different card for my niece, which may inspire next year’s card!

I used a lot of the same materials, I had embossed more paper than I needed, and featured the stamp. Since it was on the front of the card, I made the stamp fancy by using copper embossing powder. The wreath of leaves were some metallic paper scraps I had laying around and I just used my leaf punch, super simple!
