Mad Scientist Card

This card was actually made several years ago for Halloween and I was able to snap some pics of it because my awesome friends save my cards! Loosely based on Frankenstein, it is a mad scientist’s cabinet…

I made this card before I had the benefit of all the machines I have know to do the heavy lifting for me (and one of the cards that made me wish I had said machines!) So all the images in this card were printed or stamped and then cut out by hand. Ouch!

This first thing I designed was the cabinet itself, I wanted the curly top and the two doors on the front. I used a silver marker to draw the detail at the top and used a big fancy brad for the handle. When I sent the cards the tag was simply tied around the card to hold it closed…and to warn the recipient!

I got to get out a bunch of my insect and spider stamps for this card and my spiderweb stamp!

Inside the cabinet!

I used images from all over, some where stamps, some from the internet, but most were from a Dover book I have of Victorian Goods and Merchandise. So many spooky bottles and salves! I printed them on card stock and cut them out. I also drew the shelves inside the cabinet and added the spiderwebs with another stamp.

Here is the finished card!

Just what I imaged Victor Frankenstein having in is laboratory!
