As my mom has been sewing away this year, I went for a sewing themed card. So many options for cardmaking!

I have a bunch of sewing related images, and I really liked this one with the woman cutting out the pattern. Since it is old timey, I ended up giving the card a vintage feel.

I used a piece of aged metal and printed the image on ink jet Lazertran. After I let the ink dry, I found I was able to use some markers to add some color to the image! It did fine and didn’t run at all when I got the decal wet.
I used some glitter spray and inks to color the background paper and I used an embossing folder in my die cut machine to give it some texture.

Then I just started adding stuff! I have these cute sewing notions stamps that I stamped in black ink and then used clear embossing powder on them to make them shine. I also got out a bunch of sewing charms to tie on the card. I just love the little wooden ruler.

I did use my Silhouette cutter to cut the scissors with the oval out. The image is from the Graphics Fairy and I used the print and cut function on the cutting machine to have a nice clean edge and to cut out the inset oval. I do love having technology to cut out ovals for me!

More spray glitter and embossing on the inside background paper! And I got to use one of my sewing themed stamps from Tim Holtz. (I have a lot of sewing themed craft supplies.)
The finished card!

My mom loved the card and I am happy with it. I always like using aged metal bits, the patina adds so much color and texture!
