Cowboy Card

Cowboy6

For my dad’s birthday I wanted to make him a western themed card, and what is more western than cowboys! I had some pictures of the desert that I had taken so I started there.

I printed the picture on velum and gave it a grainy quality to keep it in the background. I also added some green handmade paper that had leaves pressed into it which added a nice hint of texture. Then I thought that a silhouette cowboy would be great and after looking up a bunch of pictures on the internet, I remembered that I had some stickers of cowboys.

The stickers were also on velum and there was one with a fence which was perfect!

I wanted to add some sort of tag or plate to the card and thought it would be fun to use my Foil Quill tool to spell something out. I picked “Cowboy,” just in case it wasn’t obvious.

The eyelets I used to attach the label got a little squished (they don’t make ’em like the used to) but the card was rustic enough that I think it was ok.

For the inside of the card I used a couple of stamps, my typewriter font Happy Birthday and my saguaro stamp.

The final card!

This was a nice little card that I feel has a lot of character!
