To start off this new year I am sharing with you this cute kitten card!
These kittens are so cute with their big eyes, I just had to make them into a birthday card. I wanted to give them an antique look with a crackle finish. I printed the image on a waterslide decal paper (Lazertran for injet,) and mounted it on one of my pieces of treated metal. Then I was able to apply the clear crackle finish – I like a firm base when using the crackle paint.
The rest was just adding some decorations for the card!
I liked the idea of the kittens being surrounded by plants and flowers. I have a great set of die cuts (a Tim Holtz set) and I cut some foliage out of metallic paper.
I also ran the background paper through my die cut machine with a swiss dot embossing folder just to give it some texture. After assembling the card I added a bit of filigree with a tiny star brad to finish the card!
