When my sister’s birthday came around I decided I needed to change up my card making a little. I’ve been using a lot of metallic and grungy things in my cards and I wanted to mix things up! So I dug back into my picture stock and found this old sewing pattern image. I used to use these 1950’s vintage images a lot so it was fun to bring it back.

This card wanted to be colorful and relatively simple so it was just a matter of pulling out the right papers. Of course I couldn’t resist using some of my Tim Holtz stamps!

They are really subtle, grey ink with clear embossing powder on vellum, but it added some nice texture without being overwhelming. I also could resist using my embossing and cutting machine also. The tags were cut out on it and I embossed the inside tape measure paper as well but it got really wrinkly since the paper was on the thin side and I had to dampen it to keep it from tearing (that only sort of worked.)

But that is why I put it in the inside! A couple of stamps and some linen string to tie the tags on and done!
My sister liked the card and she laughed to see that I had all the paper crafting toys now!
