Bat Card

Bats are such good themes for Halloween! They work for a Dracula card and just about any Halloween theme, a bat is not out of place. This image that I got from The Graphics Fairy was so lovingly drawn but so clinical, that they looked like they should be in a display case. So that’s what I made my card’s look like!

Once again I pulled out my trusty Silhouette Portrait and print and cut out a whole bunch of bats. I used glossy photo paper because I like the sheen and it makes the images look rich. For the background I crumpled some cream colored paper and used my Distress inks to add some aging. The frame is just some brown cardstock that I rubbed Metallique Wax on to make it look old and vaguely metallic.

I finished the card off with some champagne crushed glass glitter and some black mica flakes (I think I was going for glitsty mold, but who really knows, it was always in my head looking like that!)

Bat and Bug2

I actually made some groovy paper for the inside using stamp embossing as a resist, but I ended up covering most of it up. It still made for a nice texture and I hope to use the technique again.

Bat and Bug3

I always make my niece a slightly different card so I made one with bugs, and I almost liked it better than the bats!
