Paris Birthday Card

So I have been trying not to buy so many craft supplies because I already have so many, but sometimes I just can’t resist! I picked up an Evolution Advanced die-cut and embossing machine at Tuesday Morning one day (something that happens fairly often I have found out,) so of course I had to get a bunch of stuff to use with it – sigh. However, it has been so much fun! I mostly got it for embossing since I have the Silhouette cutting machine, so when my friend’s birthday came around I decided to do a french themed card so I could use my “carte postale” embossing folder.

I ran a printed paper through the embossing machine and then rubbed a stamp pad on it to bring out the texture even more. I had also picked up some glitter ink (curses Tuesday Morning! I have since stopped going there,) and sprayed it all over to give it a little sparkle.

The Eiffel Tower image is printed on velum so it was nice and translucent, to show off even more of the embossing. I used my Silhouette to print and cut the Eiffel Tower on glossy photo paper and cut some chipboard to make the tower really stand out.

And while it is fun to use my new toys, I still love a good stamp!

My friend loved the card and I had to tell her all about my new machine, which still is super fun!
